Data Privacy Notice — Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173)
In line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, District Gym tells you how we collect, use and protect your personal information.
WHAT WE COLLECT: your name, birthday, gender, address, mobile number, email address, occupation, height and weight, the health conditions you tell us about, your emergency contact, your photo for the door cameras, your signature, and your membership, payment and attendance records.
WHY WE COLLECT IT: to register you and know who you are; to run your membership, payments and receipts; to keep you safe while you train (your health information and emergency contact); to let you in at the door; and to send you reminders, class and event news, and offers from the gym.
SENSITIVE INFORMATION: your health information and birthday are sensitive personal information under the law. We use your health information only to keep you safe and to guide your training.
WHO SEES IT: only District Gym staff who need it for their work, and the services we use to run the gym (our membership system, email and secure cloud storage). We do not sell your information. We share it with anyone else only with your consent, or when the law requires it.
HOW WE PROTECT IT: your records are kept in a password-protected system that only approved gym computers can open, and they are backed up every day.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT: while you are a member, and afterwards only as long as the law or our legitimate business records require. Then it is deleted or made anonymous.
YOUR RIGHTS: you have the right to be informed; to access your information; to object; to have it corrected; to have it erased or blocked; to data portability; to be paid damages if it is misused; and to file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (www.privacy.gov.ph).
